Mr J. J. Bhatt has been practising since last 23 years. As a legal professional he has had a progressive journey. He has held many responsible roles including – Director of listing and arbitration at BSE Limited (BSE), Executive Director of erst-while Vadodara Stock Exchange and Public Interest Director of the Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX). Further, during his tenure at BSE and in the history of BSE, highest numbers of companies got listed. Also, the Special Court of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court had appointed him as the Chairman of Bonds Committee, BSE.
His varied, vast and ringside view of the stock exchange operations couple with his deep insight in the securities laws and analysis of the market trends and behaviour of individuals and corporate participants for our 3 decades has helped him build a legacy worthy niche in legal and regulatory advisory.
Mr. Bhatt’s passion for the market has taken him around the word for analysing the regulatory and functional landscapes of foreign stock markets.
As an advocate he has successfully defended several cases before the Hon’ble Securities Appellate Tribunal, SEBI Special Court and Stock Exchange Arbitrations. He has contributed to the growth and success of many budding lawyers who have come to his doorstep and left it actionable knowledge. Not only has he handled complex stock market disputes but has hand held small investors to their issues and spread awareness about the dire consequences of taking ill-informed decisions w.r.t. investments in the securities market.
As a senior advisor and standing counsel to R V Legal, Mr. Bhatt has spearheaded the growth and transformation of the firm from a start-up in 2017 to a boutique firm at present.
